Geology
The Major in Geology imparts in-depth knowledge of the interrelation between the earth's mantle, the earth's crust, hydrosphere, and atmosphere.
Students fulfill core and optional course requirements and internships, and take excursions, field and block courses, thereby acquiring an exemplary insight into the fields of geology, mineralogy and geochemistry. The selection of special topics of focus is an ideal first step toward majoring in the subjects of Geology, Mineralogy & Geochemistry, and Engineering Geology, part of the Master Degree in Earth Sciences.
Since Autumn Semester 2016 the Major in Geology is offered as part of the Major in Geology and Geophysics.
